The building now used as the Shotton Colliery Working Men's Club is located on Station Road just to the east of St. Saviour's Church. According to data on the seventh epoch Ordnance Survey maps (1) this building was only built in the 1970's, however, a low wall in front of this building carries two plaques dedicated to men of the Club who died in two World Wars. This suggests that one of the smaller buildings on this site in the early 20th century might have been the original Working Men's Club. The plaques are painted white with black borders, the plaque on the left dedicated to men of Shotton Colliery Club who laid down their lives in the First World War; the plaque on the right dedicated to WW2.
