St. Paul's Church first appears on the second edition Ordnance Survey maps of 1894-99 (1) to the north of the main village of Quarrington Hill along Church Road. It is documented that the church was demolished in 1993 due to subsidence (2), and modern aerial photographs (3) and streetview (4) images show that the churchyard, graves and walls are still located on the site but the church building has completely gone, the foundations fully grassed over. The church once contained a number of features dedicated as war memorials although these have been moved to new locations (5-6).

One particular memorial (NEWMP Q3.05) has had quite an eventful life, originally being unveiled in 1920 as part of the organ here in St. Paul's Church. From here the plaque moved to St. Paul's Worship Centre in Quarrington Hill, which was demolished in 1999. Plaque then moved to Christ the King Church, Bowburn which was demolished in 2007. At this point the plaque went to the Community Centre in Quarrington Hill before going to the newly built Christ the King Church at Bowburn in 2009 (2).
