Oakenshaw Working Men's Club (Oakenshaw)
Oakenshaw Working Men's Club first appears on the third edition Ordnance Survey maps of 1919-26 (1). The club is still standing on aerial photographs from 2001 (2), but the building no longer exists on aerial photos from 2006 (3), having been either destroyed or demolished. Images from 2010 (4) show that the area has been built over by a modern housing estate named Woodland Close. It is documented that the club contained a war memorial plaque though its present condition/survival is unknown (5-6).
