Rustic granite cross on a rough-hewn pedestal with two steps, the whole standing on a low brick-paved and kerbed step within a larger area of brick paving. This is set back from the road in a semi-circular grassed area surrounded by wrought iron railings with cross decorations in roundels, located at the junction of East View and Margaret Street. Smoothed panel on the front of the pedestal dedicates the memorial in honour of the brave men who fell in the First World War with names listed in two columns. Dates and names for WW2 are carried on the front riser of the top step. Unveiled 1949, with major refurbishment and landscaping of the area in 2005 to make it what it is now. (1-2)
