Framwellgate Moor Community Centre (Framwellgate Moor)

The building now used as Framwellgate Moor Community Centre was formerly a school that first appears on the second edition Ordnance Survey maps of the area (1) just to the south of St. Aidan's Church. Streetview images (2) show that the building is red brick-built with coursed banding of lighter brick incorporated into the design, particularly evident on the two west facing gables that front onto the road. The school has clearly been extended over the years since the second edition OS maps, and as a community centre the building still houses some of the original school features, including the school war memorial (3-4).
