Forest Primary School, Forest-in-Teesdale (Forest-in-Teesdale)
Forest School is already in existence and labelled as a school on the first edition Ordnance Survey maps published around 1860 (1). There is evidence to suggest that the early building may have been a meeting house before it became a school (2), though the predominant use of the building has been as a school and has remained so, although much developed and enlarged, through to the present day. The school is known to contain a number of features dedicated as war memorials (2-3).
