The Methodist Chapel at Forest-in-Teesdale first appears on the second edition Ordnance Survey map (2) and has remained on the same site until the present day. Streetview data (3) shows a small building set within its own low-walled grounds with red iron gates fronting onto the road. The building itself is stone-built with slate pitched roof, end-on so that the north east gable faces the road with a protruding gabled entrance porch, two slender arched windows (one either side of the entrance), a small circular window towards the apex of the gable and a sandstone plaque incised with the words "Wesleyan Chapel". The church is known to contain at least two features dedicated as war memorials (4-5).
