Newhouse Club and Institute, Newhouse Road, Esh Winning (Esh Winning)
Newhouse Club and Institute first appears on the third edition Ordnance Survey map of 1919-26 (1). Recent aerial photographs and streetview data (2-3) show that the Newhouse Club building still exists today although it is closer to the edge of Newhouse Road than the building appears on the third edition map. OS data from the 8th epoch maps (4) suggests that the original building was demolished and the current, larger, building was built in its place. The club is known to contain a First World War memorial plaque, likely to have been originally located in the first building on this site (5-6)
