WW1 Drill Hall (modern TA Centre) Picktree Lane, Chester-le-Street (Chester-le-Street)

Built around 1914-1915, the Drill Hall on Picktree Lane first appears on the third edition Ordnance Survey map of 1919-1926 (1). The buildings are still used today as a Territorial Army (TA) Centre, the building is brick-built with slate roofing and has low stone walls surmounted by iron fencing (2). The centre contains a plaque dedicated to serving soldiers of WW1 (3).
