Morton House is a large building situated within its own grounds on the first edition Ordnance Survey map (1). The building was used as the 14th Durham VA Hospital during WW1 and survives today as a private residence (2). Modern aerial photographs show there are a number of buildings that have been added to the site to the north (3).
