Site Details

North west of Sheepwalks Farm (Butsfield)

The remains of a metalworking site stood here. Three large stones and a large heap of iron slag were recorded here, though much of it had been removed. It has been suggested that this may be of Roman (AD43 to 410) date, though the evidence for this is unclear.
D3860
Roman (43 to 410)
