Milestone on castle drive at nz 222 310 (Bishop Auckland)

This milestone, now protected as a Listed Building, is of the 18th century. This seems to have been a feature of the landscaped grounds of Auckland Castle park; it is with the details "1 mile to the castle". The details are inscribed into the sandstone used here in a cursive script rather than capitals.
