This site consists of a water tap and its housing, c. 10 m west of 8 Newtown. The housing was designed by Ignatius Bonomi, and was built from sandstone and ashlar in c. 1827 by the London Lead Company. It has stone kerbs in front of plain jambs supporting a wider lintel, with a c 0.8 m tall pediment (viz., a triangular feature surmounting a door, window, or other part of a non-classical building) coping setback slightly. A stone slab at the back of the recess has a water tap set in its top; and a wood backing above. Two iron bars from the stone slab to the kerb form a bucket stand. This is an example of the facilities provided by the London Lead Company for its workers; c. 30 years before the local authority provided a public water supply. It is a Grade II listed building, thus protected by law.
