War memorial: Seated life-size figure of woman in classical drapery in dejected posture, right hand holding wreath, on tall square pedestal with wide base, swag-decorated frieze and wide cornice. Names of the dead from the First World War are located on a panel on the front face of the pedestal whilst those for WW2 are on the back. Wrought iron rail links four short posts on the step. Curb has four pyramidal-coped low piers on each side, the centre of each block with a raised rusticated panel. The whole is set within an enclosure of plain railings with a gate that has flattened pointed heads and square principals with pointed heads. Originally unveiled in 1924 with additions in 1949 (3-5).
This is a listed building protected by law.
