The earliest parts of the parish church of St Thomas were built in the 12th century. The chancel, side aisles and upper part of the tower date to the early 13th century. The rest of the church was added in the 14th and 15th century, and it was restored and modernised in 1867. (1)

The church and churchyard are known to contain a number of features dedicated as war memorials. (2-4)
