This is a statue of the Third Marquess of Londonderry mounted on a horse. It was erected in 1858. Inscription commemorates Charles William Vane Stewart, 3rd Marquess of Londonderry, Lord Lieutenant of Durham and founder of Seaham Harbour. Another commemorates restoration of statue in 1952. It is a Grade II Listed Building protected by law.
