Laxey Cottage was built in the late 17th or early 19th century, though the rear wing may be of 16th century date. The byre and barn next to it were built in the late 18th or early 19th century. Rear wing has massive adzed closely-spaced ceiling beams on ground floor and 2 pairs of late 18th or early 19th century thin curved upper crucks halved at ridge and with a planked partition set behind front pair. This is a Grade II Listed Building protected by law.
