This building was an entrance lodge for the nearby Hamsterley Hall. It is a Listed Building and is a typical example in having many decorative features to show the wealth of the major landowner. Unusually it is 20th century and of Art Nouveau style. Walls attached to the lodge would have stopped any unwanted visitors to the main hall.
