The church of Saint Mary Magdalene in Medomsley has its origin in the medieval period. It has been much altered over the years, particularly by major building work in 1876. However, some parts of the earlier structure have survived this rebuilding work. The earliest of these parts is the south door which dates from around 1150AD.
