9 The College (Chorister School), including town walls, Durham City (Durham City)
This building was once the house of a prebend (the man in charge of one of the abbey's rural estates). It is of medieval date, but has 17th and 18th century alterations. Central Tudor-arched open porch has roll-moulded parapet with raised centre panel containing arms of Bishop Lord Crewe. It is a Grade I Listed Building protected by law.
