Bowes Hall was built early to mid 17th century, altered in early to mid 18th century. Built of squared rubble with ashlar dressings, with a slate roof. In the 19th century it was a private school. However, in the 20th century it became a farmhouse. It is three floors high and is roofed in slate. Bowes Hall is a Grade II listed building protected by law.
