The church of St Cuthbert is the parish church of Shadforth. It was built around 1834-40 by Thomas Jackson who died in 1840, and was completed by his son George. The chancel was rebuilt in 1889-91. (1)

The church is known to contain a number of features dedicated as war memorials (2-3).

It is a Grade II Listed Building protected by law.
