Elemore Hall is now a local authority residential school. It was built in 1749-53 by Robert Shout of Helmsley (1734-97), with his brother John, for George Baker; on basement of 16th century house built for Bertram Anderson, mayor and Member of Parliament for Newcastle upon Tyne. It is a Grade I Listed Building protected by law.

Three storey red brick building, probably completed in 1753. Renovated in 1978-9, it is now a residential children's nursery.
