Ebchester Bridge, River Derwent, Ebchester, Consett (Ebchester)
This bridge at Ebchester has a date of 1862 on the parapet. It is made of sandstone. There is documentary evidence that previous bridges, made at least partly of wood, have stood on this site. Up to about 1972 it carried road traffic, which was then diverted to a new road bridge built nearby.
