This building was the Priory Kitchen, now muniment room. It was built in 1366-74 by John Lewyn from square sandstone blocks. It is octagonal in shape with corner projections making a square plan at ground level. The building contains several medieval and post-medieval ovens. It is thought that the design of the vault is either original or derived from mosques as in Cordoba, Spain. This is a Grade I Listed Building protected by law.
