The aisles, clerestory and chancel were rebuilt in 1846-7 by I Bonomi and J A Cory. In 1897-9 the chancel aisles were added by W S Hicks and the chancel was lengthened and raised in 1905. The church is built of coursed squared sandstone with a plinth and ashlar dressings, and the roof is of Welsh slate. At the top of one of the south aisle buttresses is an Anglo Saxon sundial in the roof gable which probably belonged to the original church.
This is a Grade 1 Listed Building protected by law.
