Durham Castle Gatehouse, Palace Green, Durham City (Durham City)
This building was the gatehouse to Durham Castle. It is medieval, but was altered in the 16th century for Bishop Tunstall and in 1790 for Bishop Barrington. Much of the nearby walls were probably built in the 18th or early 19th century. This is a Grade I Listed Building protected by law.
