This house (25 Old Elvet) was built in the mid-late 18th century. This is a Grade II Listed Building protected by law.

This house also functioned as a billet during World War I (4). It was occupied by Dr. Selby Wetherell Plummer, M. D., B. S. (5). He was a certifying factory surgeon and a medical referee for the Workmen's Compensation Act, County Court Circuit, No. 2 (6).
