The socket stone for a former medieval cross situated in the churchyard of St Michaels Church, circa 50 metres north west of Dairy Bridge and within the north east corner of the grounds of Rokeby Park. The socket stone measures 0.6 metres square at its base and is 0.45 metres high. At 0.07 metres above the base is a concave moulding and at above 0.18 metres a broad, slightly concave chamfer reduces the dimensions of the socket stone to 0.4 metres square at its top. The socket is 0.2 metres by 0.25 metres. This is a Scheduled Monument, protected by law. (1)
