Former Gilesgate Railway Station (Durham City)
This is the old Gilesgate Railway Station- it is now used as a builder's merchants. It was built in 1844 for the Durham and Sunderland Railway Company. This is a Grade II Listed Building protected by law.
This station was active during World War I as a goods station (1). It was managed by John R. Garry, the goods master (2, 3).
