Milestone About 70m South of Junction With Pan Lane, B6296, Satley (Satley)
This milestone, now protected as a Listed Building, was probably erected in 1793 for the Wolsingham to Gateshead turnpike. It is a roughly-dressed sandstone block. The numbers indicate the distances to ends of the then turnpike road; though no names are given on this stone.
