Cup-and-ring-marked boulder, West Loups Farm, West Loups', Cotherstone (Cotherstone Moor)

This stone has a group of cup and ring marks carved on to it. These carvings were probably carved in the early Bronze Age or late Neolithic. The purpose of these carvings is not clear though they may have had a religious function. This is a Scheduled Ancient Monument protected by law (1).

Two prehistoric carved rocks at West Loups Farm. One is located on the south side of the farm and contains two cups. The other is 3 metres north of the northeast corner of of the northernmost building of the farm. This contains a groove and at least 7 cups, two of them with rings. (6)
