Cup-and-ring-marked boulder, West Loups', Cotherstone Moor, Cotherstone (Cotherstone Moor)
A stone built into a post-medieval stone wall had cup and ring marks carved onto it. These carvings were probably carved in the early Bronze Age or late Neolithic. The purpose of these carvings is not clear though they may have had a religious function. This is a Scheduled Ancient Monument protected by law (1).
A prehistoric carved rock, 1.6 metres by 1.2 metres by 0.55 metres. It is situated 80 metres south of West Loups's, and 1.5 metres north of a derelict wall. The carving consists of at least 11 cups, four of them with rings. (7)
