The Church of St Mary was built in 1873 by Cory and Ferguson, in the Early Englsh style. Constructed of snecked sandstone with ashlar dressings and a purple slate roof. This is a listed building.

The church contains two memorial rolls of honour dedicated to those of the parish who served or gave their lives in the First World War (1-2).
