Home Farm at Raby is a model farmstead built in the mid 18th century for the Earl of Darlington. It incorporates medieval masonry from the demolished barbican of Raby Castle, including a carved bull emblem. The farm has a U-shaped plan behind a Gothic folly screen. The screen is constructed of sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings on a stone plinth. The farm comprises two ranges of houses, cottages and farm buildings linked by the screen at the east end. The farm buildings are built of squared sandstone, with ashlar quoins and dressings. The farmhouse has a pantile roof, the other farm buildings have Welsh slate and concrete tile coverings. (8)
