This house (73-5 Saddler Street) was built in the 17th century - a mill was added in the 18th century. It was turned into a shop in the 20th century. This mill was one of the first in Durham to grind mustard, an 18th and 19th century Durham speciality. This is a Grade II Listed Building protected by law.
