This farmhouse was built in the 18th century. However, there was once an earlier building here. This was a place where travelers crossing Stainmoor could have stayed. It was founded by Conan, Earl of Richmond in the mid 11th century.

Hospital founded at Rerecross circa 1171 and suppressed circa 1540.
