Bridge abutment to former footbridge, Ebchester (Ebchester)

This is an abutment for a former footbridge. The footbridge is known to have been in existence in 1850, but is thought to have been demolished in 1862, when the current road bridge was built. Today only the abutment survives, buried under ivy, on the river bank.
