The church of St Mary's at Easington was probably first built in the late Anglo-Saxon period (8th-10th century). Two pieces of Anglo-Saxon carved stone can still be seen in the church. However, the present building was mainly built in the late 12th century to replace an earlier 11th century church. New windows were added in the 14th century. This is a Grade 1 listed building, thus protected by law.
