Market Cross, Market Place, Stanhope (Stanhope)
Market cross erected in 1669 to comemorate the the re-founding of Stanhope market. It was restored with a modern shaft and head set into the original base in 1871. The original shaft was moved to the churchyard (see NY 93 NE 188). This was also the site of the stocks of which no trace remains. The cross is both scheduled and listed. (9)
