Human burials, Slaughter Close, Cockfield (Cockfield)

In 1775 around 30 human skeletons were found here, when workmen were digging a ha ha. They may have been the remains of soldiers killed in a battle at Raby Castle in 1648. (1)

Civil War burials, weapons and armour found (5).
