Helmington Hall was built in the seventeenth century and is arranged around a courtyard. It was very badly damaged by a fire in 1895, though its remains can still be seen and part of the main building has been rebuilt. There was once a carved coat of arms over one of the doors, though this was destroyed in the fire (3).
