Coxhoe Hall Designed Landscape

Site of a demolished country house surrounded by designed landscape, carriage way, ha-ha and walled gardens which remain. Eye catcher plantation 400m south. Former home of Elizabeth Barrett-Browning and John Burdon, builder of Hardwick Hall registered parkland at Sedgefield (1-2).

This site is included on the Local List of Historic Parks, Gardens and Designed Landscapes and is an important part of the County's cultural heritage. The site boundaries should be considered informative rather than definitive, and in some cases are still mapped as 'uncertain'.
