St. Lawrence's Chapel, Barforth (Barforth)

This ruined building was once the chapel of St Lawrence. It is divided into two sections. The western part was built in the 12th century. The building was made bigger in the early 13th century and remained in used as a church until the 16th century. It was them divided into two and the western part was turned into a house for the priest. Adjacent to the ruins of domestic buildings added later. The building is a Scheduled Ancient Monument protected by law. (1)
