Redworth windmill, Shackleton Beacon Hill, Heighington (Heighington)

In the 18th century a windmill stood in the western half of the summit of the Iron Age hillfort of Shackleton Beacon. Although the hill is now covered in trees the presence of a windmill means that it must once have been clear of trees. In the 19th century it was remodelled into a stone folly. It is visible as a stone circular structure 6.5 metres in diameter with walls 0.8 metres thick standing up to 3 metres high. Scheduled.
