Bishop's Hospital AKA Cosin's Almshouses, Durham City (Durham City)
This is an almshouse and a schoolhouse built in 1668 for Bishop Longstaffe. In 1838 the buildings were taken over by the university, now in use as a restaurant and office. Built on the site of grammar school, founded 1414, refounded in 1541 and burnt down by the Scots in 1640. This is a Grade II Listed Building protected by law.
