Turret 18a (Wallhouses East) (Matfen)

(NZ 0433568425) Turret 18a (GSC) (site of) (TI). (1)

Located opposite Moorhouse Road end, (3) and partly excavated in 1931. It was exceptionally well preserved, and the ladder-platform was standing to its full height with six stone steps. (2)(3)

No visible remains. Site covered by modern road and grass verge. (4)

NZ 044684 Wallhouses. Cord rig beneath Roman context. (5)

No visible trace apart from a rise in the hedgeline at NY 0433 6842. (7a)

Located on the English Heritage map of Hadrian's Wall 2010. (7b)
