East Apperley shrunken medieval village (Broomley and Stocksfield)

The present settlement at Apperley lies on the site of a medieval village. Although now largely built over, the earthwork remains of roads, plots and house sites are still visible in places, together with ridge and furrow cultivation, open field furlongs and driftways.
