Healey deserted medieval village (Healey)
Healey is mentioned in a number of old documents which give some idea of the number of people who once lived here. In 1268 it was valued at a very low rate, possibly because it was so small, and in 1296 there were just two taxpayers. After the medieval period there was only one farm at Healey. The site of the medieval village is near Hall Farm, the present village having been founded on a new site after 1769.
