Bronze Age burial cairn at Ray Fell (Kirkwhelpington)
Over 3000 years ago, in what archaeologists call the Bronze Age, people buried their dead in stone-lined cists inside cairns. This cairn is built of earth and stone, with two rings of stone forming kerbs around it.
